Spring time inspires newness on many fronts. For the motorcyclist (especially those who have to wait out long, snowy winters) there is an eagerness to shine up our rides and twist the throttle once again down an open road. The bike has been under wraps for way too long, and that first ride brings thoughts of new adventures.

Motorcycling takes one to things as much as away from things. A good ride clears the mind and at the same time may fill the mind with new hope, almost in a spiritual way. The apostle Paul wrote, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation. The old has passed away and the new has come” (2 Cor. 5:17). Every day in the Lord offers us opportunities to leave behind our sins and failures, to leave behind missed opportunities, to forget how others may have mistreated us.
